Pengalaman Identitas dan Distres Psikologis Mahasiswa Papua di Yogyakarta: Sebuah Studi Fenomenologi Interpretatif

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi secara mendalam pengalaman fenomenologis mahasiswa Papua di Yogyakarta, fokus pada bagaimana dinamika identitas budaya memediasi distres psikologis dalam konteks akulturasi yang ditandai diskriminasi. Penelitian kualitatif menggunakan desain Fenomenologi Interpretatif (IPA) diterapkan pada tujuh (7) subjek mahasiswa Papua melalui wawancara mendalam. Analisis data menggunakan interpretasi ganda (double hermeneutic) untuk menghasilkan model interpretatif yang kaya data. Ditemukan tiga tema inti yang membentuk siklus distres-koping: 1) Dilema Identitas Bicultural, yang memicu Ego Depletion akibat code-switching; 2) Beban Stres Akibat Diskriminasi Terselubung, yang menyebabkan Allostatic Load melalui Kewaspadaan Kronis; dan 3) Strategi Koping Komunitas, yang berfungsi sebagai Separasi Fungsional dan buffer resiliensi. Penyesuaian psikologis adalah proses osilasi yang menuntut energi. Temuan ini menekankan bahwa Integrasi hanya dapat dicapai jika lingkungan host secara aktif mengurangi beban stres eksternal, menjadikan komunitas etnis sebagai mekanisme pemeliharaan diri yang vital melalui Separasi Fungsional.
