Peran Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) sebagai Mediator Hubungan Insecure Attachment dan Problematic Smartphone Use pada Remaja Kota Medan

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peran Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) sebagai mediator dalam hubungan antara insecure anxious attachment dan problematic smartphone use (PSU) pada remaja Kota Medan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional terhadap 246 remaja berusia 11–18 tahun. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa insecure anxious attachment berpengaruh positif terhadap FoMO (β = 0,451; p < 0,001) dan terhadap problematic smartphone use (β = 0,233; p = 0,001). FoMO juga berpengaruh positif terhadap problematic smartphone use (β = 0,268; p < 0,001). Efek tidak langsung menunjukkan nilai β = 0,121 (p = 0,001), yang mengindikasikan mediasi parsial. Nilai R² menunjukkan bahwa insecure anxious attachment menjelaskan 20,3% variasi FoMO dan model menjelaskan 18,2% variasi problematic smartphone use. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa FoMO memperkuat kontribusi pola kelekatan cemas terhadap penggunaan smartphone bermasalah pada remaja.
